Magnificent Manchester City crush Arsenal's title hopes

Manchester City delivered a masterclass to overwhelm Premier League leaders Arsenal and strike a huge psychological blow in the title race at Etihad Stadium.

Manchester City are now just two points behind Arsenal at the top of the table with nine games remaining, and the result will give Pep Guardiola's side a huge boost in confidence as they chase a fifth Premier League title in six seasons.

Arsenal had been in impressive form heading into the match, having won their last six league games, but they were outplayed by a rampant City side who dominated from start to finish.

Kevin De Bruyne opened the scoring for City in the 24th minute, before Erling Haaland doubled the lead just four minutes later. Bukayo Saka pulled one back for Arsenal just before half-time, but City restored their two-goal advantage through Jack Grealish in the 72nd minute.

Haaland then wrapped up the scoring with his second goal of the game in the 82nd minute, to seal a comprehensive victory for City.

The result leaves Arsenal's title hopes hanging in the balance, while City are now in the driving seat to retain their Premier League crown.
