Los Angeles Sparks Star Nneka Ogwumike Returns to Court Postpartum

"Mom's Energy" Powers Sparks to Victory

Former All-Star Encouraged by Hammon's Leadership

In a thrilling comeback victory for the Los Angeles Sparks, two-time All-Star and new mom Nneka Ogwumike played all 40 minutes of the game, bringing a renewed energy to the court. Despite trailing by seven points late in the third quarter, the Sparks rallied behind Ogwumike's leadership to secure a 55-52 win.

After the game, Ogwumike, who welcomed her first child in September, shared her motivation: "I'm out here playing with a mom's energy," she said. "I'm just grateful to be able to be out there and to be able to contribute to the team."

Sparks head coach Becky Hammon, who has two adopted children, has created a supportive environment for working mothers on the team. Ogwumike praised Hammon's leadership, saying, "She's a great role model for all of us, and she's been really supportive of me and other moms on the team."

Ogwumike's return to the court is a testament to the growing number of women balancing motherhood and professional sports. Her performance on Monday night showcased the strength and determination of working mothers everywhere.
