England Win European Under-21 Championship
England have won the European Under-21 Championship for the first time since 1984.
James Garner's first-half goal proved to be the winner on Sunday, as the Young Lions beat Spain 1-0 in the final in Ljubljana, Slovenia.
It ended a long wait for England at this level, having lost in the final in 1978, 1982 and 2009.
Gareth Southgate, who captained England to victory in the Toulon Tournament in 1994, was among those to congratulate the team.
"Congratulations to all involved," Southgate said. "A fantastic achievement and a proud moment for English Football."
