Heavy Downpour Leads To Waterlogging Train Delays

Mumbai Rains: City Records Over 300mm Rainfall, Powai Lake Overflows

Heavy Downpour Leads to Waterlogging, Train Delays

Mumbai has witnessed incessant rainfall over the past 24 hours, with several areas receiving more than 300 millimeters (mm) of precipitation in a six-hour period from 1 am to 7 am today. The heavy downpour has led to waterlogging in various low-lying areas, causing disruptions to daily life.

Powai Lake Overflows

The city's Powai Lake has begun overflowing due to the continuous rainfall. A civic official reported that the lake's water level has risen significantly over the past few days, resulting in the release of excess water.

Waterlogging and Train Delays

The heavy rainfall has also caused severe waterlogging in several parts of Mumbai. Mumbaikars are facing difficulties in commuting, with reports of delays in local train services. The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) is working to clear the waterlogging and restore normalcy as soon as possible.
